Fourteen Steps to a Healthy Diet
1. Read labels!
2. Eliminate certain food groups that don't provide the nutrients you need to stay healthy
3. Reduce the amount of calories in the foods you choose (this does not mean going crazy counting calories or giving up your favorite foods)
4. Eat a fair amount of "good" fat, such as avocado, flaxseed oil, olive oil, salmon, etc.
5. Never eat too much of anything
6. Eat a wide variety of foods
7. Use sugar in moderation
8. Don't watch TV too much at one time
9. Don't smoke
10. Don't drink alcohol more than once a week
11. Don't drink more than one cup of coffee per day
12. Don't skip meals (normally, those who skip meals have a hard time losing fat)
13. Spread your eating over 7 or 8 meals a day (this will help your metabolism by using additional energy to digest and process your food)
14. Get up early (this helps your blood circulation)
