| General Nutritional Advice |
| Balanced nutrition is very important for the body. The better you eat, the better you feel. Most people want a better body. They want to be stronger, firmer, and leaner. But getting there can be overwhelming because of all the training do's and don'ts. Eating and exercise habits determine whether you lose or gain body fat. They determine how
many calories you take in and how many calories you burn. In order to lose body fat,
you need to control calories by balancing your diet and increasing the amount of
physical activity. This could include walking to the park, riding your bike to work if you
can, or working out in a good gym. Remember, balanced nutrition and exercise can keep
you fit for life. |

| Combining proper diet with exercises a more effective way to lose body fat than dieting
alone. Even the most nutritious, low-calorie diet without exercise will cause some muscle
loss. A pound of muscle has only 600 calories or about 1/6 the calories from fat.
| However, muscle can be lost more quickly than fat. Since a half a pound of fat has 3500
calories, you should lose no more than 1 to 2 pounds of fat per week. If you lose more,
you are losing muscle as well. You should not be in a hurry to get rid of fat. You don't
gain it overnight and you can't lose it overnight.

| Eating smarter can be more enjoyable than you might think. Most people believe
limiting the food you eat will help them reach their weight goal faster. The truth is you
don't have to give up all your favorite foods and eat the same thing every day. You
should never think of being on or off a diet. You should be able to select healthy foods,
which will keep you fit for a lifetime.
